Instrument Configuration and Durability

The M-101 features a straightforward control layout with two primary adjustments: sensitivity and penetration depth. Detection Method and Target Response

Using a VLF double-D search coil, the M-101 provides a tightly focused detection field. It responds exclusively to ferrous metals such as rebar, mesh, and conduit within concrete. The instrument is capable of pinpointing rebar to within about ¼ inch of its centerline under favorable conditions. As the search loop approaches a target, both audio tone and meter deflection increase, allowing operators to narrow down location with precision.
